Belgium: Cloth Hall of Ypres

On Friday I got two postcards: one from Belgium and one from Germany.

The card from Belgium shows the Cloth Hall of Ypres. The Cloth Hall is a medieval commercial building and served as the main market and warehouse for the cloth industry. During World War I the building was nearly completely destroyed, but between 1933 and 1967 it was rebuilt. Today it houses the In Flanders Fields Museum. As one of the Belfries of Belgium and France it is since 1999 on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

With a related stamp:
Centenary of World War I (two from set of five) (issued 06-10-2014)

Thank You very much Gerda!
