Finland: Board Mill of Verla

On Thursday I got a postcard from Finland.

It shows the Board Mill of Verla. Verla is a well preserved mill village. The first mill in Verla was opened in 1872, but it was destroyed by a fire in 1876. 1882 another mill was founded, which operated until 1964. Today the mill houses a museum. Since 1996 are the Verla Groundwood and Board Mill on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Stamp:
Moomin-Snork Maiden (from set of six) (issued 06-05-2009)
with a special postmark from the Headquarters Museum in Mikkeli

Thank You very much Liisa!
