Mexico: Chichen-Itza

Yesterday I got seven postcards including my first card from Mexico.

Mexico is a country in North America bordering on the USA, Guatemala and Belize. It is the eleventh most populous country and the most populous Spanish-speaking country in the World. It is a member of the OECD and the UN. Mexico is a federation of 31 states and a federal district, Mexico's capital Mexico City. It has the sixth most UNESCO World Heritage Sites of all countries.

The card shows the Temple of Kukulcan and a Chacmool statue at Chichen-Itza. Chichen-Itza was once one of the greatest Mayan centres of the Yucatán peninsula. It gives information about the Maya vision of the World and the universe. Since 1988 is the Pre-Hispanic City of Chichen-Itza on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Since 2007 is Chichen-Itza one of the New7Wonders of World.

With nice stamps:
Christmas (from set of four) (issued 05-12-2014)
Day of the Postman (from set of eight) (issued 12-11-2008)

Thank You very much Martha!
