Austria: Spanish Riding School

On Wednesday I got eleven postcards including two from Austria.

One of them shows the Spanish Riding School at the Hofburg Palace in Vienna. The Spanish Riding School was founded in 1565 and was actually established for the equestrian education of the imperial family. Today it is a centre of classical dressage and also a popular tourist attraction. Only Lipizzan horses are trained. The Classical horsemanship and the High School of the Spanish Riding School Vienna are since 2015 an Intangible Heritage of the UNESCO.

With a matching stamp:
450 years Spanish Riding School (issued 26-06-2015)

Thank You very much Raffaela!
