Germany: Museum of Communication in Berlin

On Thursday I was in Berlin and there I visited the Museum of Communication.

The Museum of Communication was opened in 1872 as Imperial Postal Museum. It is housed in the former Imperial Post Office, which was badly damaged during World War II. The building was incompletely reconstructed between 1981 and 1987 at the behest of the East German government and after the reunification the building was rebuilt entirely. It houses collections about the history of communication in the World. It is one of the oldest museums in the World showing the history of technics.

The first card I bought shows the building on an old watercolour from around 1900.

I also bought two cards of the atrium of the museum.

Two other cards show pieces from the museum's collection. One of them shows a cover bearing a Blue Mauritius and the other shows the museum's building on two old stamps.

The last card shows a man during World War I using a telephone in a trench.
