Germany: Constance

Yesterday I got five postcards: three from Germany, my first card from Tibet and one from the United Kingdom.

One of the cards from Germany shows various views of Constance. Constance is a city on Lake Constance. In the 5th century a diocese was founded there and around 1192 it became a free imperial city. Between 1414 and 1418 the Council of Constance was held in the city. In 1548 the city lost its imperial immediacy and in 1805 it became a part of Baden.
I got this card a few weeks ago in a cover.

With related stamp:
600 years Council of Constance (issued 03-07-2014)
with a special postmark about the 600th death day of Jan Hus
Jan Hus was a Czech priest and reformer. He was burned at the stake in Constance in 1415.

Thank You very much Ulrike for sending me the card in an envelope!
