cover from Germany

On Saturday I got a cover from Germany.

Stamp:
Sail Bremerhaven (issued 06-08-2015)
with a special postmark showing the Sail Training Ship Sedov

Inside were three postcards from Bremerhaven. Bremerhaven is a big city in Northern Germany. The city is considered to be the only German big city on the North Sea. Together with Bremen the city forms the German State of Bremen. It is one of the largest European port cities and an important centre for the German export. It is also an important location of science and research and was the City of Science in 2005. Once the city was the most important port for emigrants.

One of the cards shows the Bremen cog from the German Maritime Museum. The German Maritime Museum is the national shipping museum of Germany. The museum is used for exhibition and for research. It opened in 1975. The Bremen cog is a well preserved example of a Hanseatic cog dating to 1380. It was found in 1962 in Bremen and can be seen in the German Maritime Museum since 2000. It is one of the main features of the museum.

Thank You very much Becky!
