Today I got two postcards: one from Germany and one from France.
The card from Germany shows the Olympiapark in Munich. The Olympiapark was built for the Games of the XX Olympiad held in August and September 1972 in Munich. The Games of the XX Olympiad were the second Olympic Games held in Germany. During the games eleven participants from Israel and one German police officer were killed by terrorists. The Games of the XX Olympiad are also known for being the first Olympic Games with a mascot. It was called Waldi and was a dachshund. The Olympiapark is still used as venue for big events.
The card was sent from the Postcrossing Meet-up in Munich.
