Germany: Francke Foundations

Yesterday I got four postcards: one from Germany, one from Finland, my first card from Kuwait and one from France.

The card from Germany shows the Francke Foundations in Halle. The Francke Foundations were founded in 1695 by August Hermann Francke. They are a school city and one of the most important architectural monuments in Germany from the period of Pietism and the early Enlightenment. The Francke Foundation Buildings seek for the inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

On the backside is a map of the Lutherweg.

Thank You very much Thomas!
