Germany: Brandenburg Gate

Today I got six postcards from Germany.

One of the cards shows the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. It was built between 1788 and 1791 at the behest of Prussia's king Frederick William II by Carl Gotthard Langhans. The Brandenburg Gate was from 1949 to 1990 the border between East and West Germany. Today it is a national symbol of Germany and shown on the 10, 20 and 50 cent coins of Germany. The men on the card is not a real Soviet soldier but an actor.

Stamp:
Salmon (02-01-2014)

Thank You very much Ralf!
